These two Blue Square North sides battled out a draw and now face
a replay on Tuesday evening.
From the visitors first attack Spartans keeper Adam Bartlett was
equal to Chris Hall’s effort a mazy dribble.
Spartans got the opening goal on 27 minutes. Martin Houlahan slotted
the ball home from inside the 6 yard area after a quickly taken
throw in by Dale found Andrew Leeson in the penalty area, his ball
inside to home debutant Houlahan.
On the stroke of half time Spartans increased there lead from the
penalty spot. Adrian Webster being tripped by Danny Wood and Richard
Forster converting the spot kick.
But deep into injury time at the end of the first half, a Wes Parker
30 yard free kick evaded all of the Spartans defence and keeper
to go straight in and give Trinity a life line at the break.
Trinity came out at the start of the second half looking for a
quick equaliser and Paul Clayton went close after being set up by
Ryan Mallon.
But 15 minutes remaining Trinity equalised. Mallon getting on to
a Callery through pass before holding off two defenders before volleying
home.
