The Spartans season ended as it had begun
with a 2-0 win. Goals from Rob Dale and Ged Dalton seccured a last
day win at Leigh RMI. Match

Defeat in Senior cup final
For the third year in a row, the Spartans
lost in the final of the Northumberland Senior Cup. After a goalless
90 minutes, Andy Lesson put Blyth ahead only for Newcastle to equalise
a minute later. Newcastle won the penalty shoot out 4-3. |

Amateur Charity Shield Winners, after defeating Walker Central 1-0.

Boston reaction
It was less of a champagne celebration and,
appropriately, more of a tea party for the Spartans at Boston on
Saturday as Blyth were assured of Blue Square North football next
season despite a 3-2 defeat. More

Safety assured
Despite losing 3-2 at Boston United, Blyth
are assured of playing Conference North footballl after Hucknall
failed to beat Harrogate. Martin Houlahan scored 2 goals to bring
Blyth back from a 3 goal deficit, but Blyth couldn't find an equaliser.
