Keepie-uppies - 2nd December 2007

Keepie-uppies with a football has long been an amusing way of showing off your ball control and impressing your friends. However it has now offers another, more significant, possibility thanks to Blue Square North football club Blyth Spartans – the chance of winning a small fortune.

£100,000 is up for grabs for the best at keepie-uppies! The only difference from the traditional version of the exercise is that, in recognition of the Spartans’ League sponsors, the ball used is a square one.

Local football fans are being invited to register their interest in trying for the top prize. The scheme will be launched at the Spartans’ Social Club on 13th December at 7.00pm and anyone interested is asked to register with Blyth’s Ian Evans on 01670 352373 (10am –1.00pm) weekdays or via email on generalmanager@blythspartans.com. to take part that evening.
Thereafter hopefuls are invited to register for regular half-time attempts during Spartans’ home matches for the rest of the season.

Mr. Evans commented, “This is a spectacular opportunity to earn a substantial amount of money – plus the Club stands to win £20,000 should the overall Blue Square winner come from the Blyth trials. “Winners from all the League teams will be up against each other so the Blyth representative stands a 1 in 68 chance of scooping the top prize. The only stipulation for entries is that entrants must be over 18 and must not have played in professional or semi-professional football.”
