With promotion to the Conference North assured the Club has received a further boost – courtesy of the Football Association (FA).
The FA has awarded the Club Charter Standard status. The Charter Standard scheme is promoted by the FA to raise standards by ensuring both the quality of coaching and professionalism within the Club.
The Award covers all the teams in the Spartans “family” including the senior mens side as well as the girls, ladies and boys set ups.

“Codes of conduct for players, coaches, managers and spectators all aim to make football a real family sport, for either those playing or those spectating” said Syd Johnson from the Northumberland FA.
“All four sections of Blyth Spartans have now achieved their respective awards and the NFA looks forward to working with the Club towards the achievement of the FA’s Charter Standard Community award, which is the next rung of the ladder, over the coming months.”

Spartans’ Chairman Tommy Hedley responded “ This is a vital step for the Club.
We are always looking to improve and to provide quality footballing opportunities for the people of Blyth. It is very pleasing to be recognised by the FA for our efforts and everyone associated with all the Spartans sides must be congratulated.”
