Blyth Spartans held their Annual General Meeting last week.

Chairman Tommy Hedley reviewed what was a disappointing previous season for the Club but took time out to thank former stand-in Manager Tom Wade and wish him all the best in his new role as boss at local rivals Gateshead. Turnover was down at the Club last season but, with the overall financial position stabilising, the Chairman was
looking forward to this season with some confidence.

Two very positive factors were the commitment of sponsors Draeger Safety, The Port of Blyth and Carlsberg giving the Club strength in depth, as well as the increased profits from the Social Club.

Manager Harry Dunn commented that we was pleased with his current squad but was always on the lookout for better players. He had no particular view on whether he should be aiming for consolidation or pushing strongly for promotion – he simply wants to try and win every game and take it from there but with the aim of improving each season.
